The Chairperson, Women in Maritime and Energy (WIME) Awards, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika led a rich delegation of WIME Awards Executives to the historic launch of Aradel Holdings Plc at the prestigious Eko Hotel, Lagos, today.
Anyika, who was accompanied to the event by some WIME Awards board members, described the company as socially responsible entity and commended the organization’s support for WIME Awards over the years.
She also labeled the new name ‘Aradel Holdings Plc’ as a well-articulated concept which underlines the vision of the organization.
Other board members of WIME Awards at the rebranding of the Aradel as an emerging leading African energy company, are; Mrs. Vivian Chimezie-Azubuike and Mrs. Tubosun Afolayan, and Mrs. Abiola Soremekun.
The 31-year old company, Aradel Holdings Plc is Nigeria’s first integrated indigenous energy company and was formerly known as Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc.
In March 2022, Aradel commissioned front-end studies in anticipation of further development of the Ogbele Field, culminating in a four-well drilling campaign that began in September 2022 and is expected to be completed in Q4, 2023.
The company is in the final stages of an upstream asset acquisition and subsequent development is expected to be completed in 2023.
As part of the company’s rebranding, in April 2023 shareholders approved the change of name from Niger Delta Exploration & Production Plc to Aradel Holdings Plc to Aradel Holdings Plc.
The official name change to Aradel Holdings Plc is said to be part of a strategic rebranding initiative aimed at better reflecting the company’s current portfolio and positioning it for future growth.
ARADEL was coined from ‘Ara’ -Aret Adams and ‘Del’ – Niger-Delta.
