Amid the huge leadership fracas that has engulfed the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), the party’s Founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, has assured members of his commitment to attaining lasting solutions in a peaceful manner.
The NNPP Founder gave this assurance during a chat with some journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, even as he opined that the political party will come out from the mess as a stronger entity.
A tussle for supremacy and control had ensued at the party between the former Kano State Governor and NNPP’s Presidential Candidate, Rabiu Kwankwaso and the party’s founder, Dr. Aniebonam, for over six months.
Speaking with Maritime Media friends in his office, Aniebonam admitted that the party is in deep crisis, but he equally disclosed that efforts are being made to restore peace and sanity.
According to him, the media would play a crucial role in maintaining peace, therefore, he charged journalists to be alert for the unveiling of certain controversies around the party.
He, however, posited that despite the myriad of issues plaguing the party, he would strive to keep doing his best for the members and the party.
