While engaging the Naval Captain, Comptroller Onyeka observed that to achieve a safe and prosperous nation, all security agencies in the country must prioritise national security and reinforce collaboration among themselves.

Comptroller Onyeka noted that beyond the core functions of revenue generation, trade facilitation and suppression of smuggling activities, Tincan Island Port Command also aims to build a strong and formidable synergy with all security agencies in order to deter criminal elements from perpetuating their nefarious activities through the seaport.

Describing such actions as detrimental to national development, he expressed optimism that with strategic collaborations those illicit activities will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Onyeka, however, lauded the efforts of the Nigerian Navy for providing adequate maritime security against sea robberies and piracy.

In his remarks, the Commanding Officer praised the Nigeria Customs Service for always rising to the occasion of joint patrol, disclosing that such input by the service has always been pivotal to the success of joint operations.

During Comptroller Onyeka’s familiarisation visit to the Controllers of the NAQS at PTML and Tincan Island Commands, he reassured the agency of continued collaboration and expressed his commitment to integrating the Quarantine Service into the Command’s activities for better synergy.
