The Chairman of the Tin Can Island Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olawale Matthew Cole, has received a Special Recognition Award at the 7th Oduduwa Special Recognition Awards (OSRA) in Ile-Ife, Osun State, for his contributions to Nigeria’s maritime industry.
Cole received the award at the OSRA Awards and Gala Night 2026, held on Saturday, October 17, at OJAJA Arena Resort, Ile-Ife. The event celebrated distinguished individuals recognised for their contributions across various sectors.
The award was presented by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
The recognition underscores Cole’s leadership in the freight forwarding and customs brokerage sector, where licensed customs agents play a critical role in cargo clearance, international trade facilitation and engagement with government agencies on port-related challenges.
Speaking after receiving the award, Cole expressed gratitude to the organisers and the Ooni of Ife for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to sustain his contributions to the maritime industry.
He reaffirmed his commitment to advancing freight forwarding and customs brokerage in Nigeria, while acknowledging the support of ANLCA members, particularly those in the Tin Can Island Chapter.
Cole noted that collective effort remained essential to strengthening the association’s effectiveness and ensuring that the interests of licensed customs agents were adequately represented.
His latest recognition comes shortly after he received another award from Primetime Reporters for his contributions to the maritime industry.
The two honours highlight Cole’s growing profile within the maritime community and draw attention to the role of freight forwarders and customs brokers in supporting trade facilitation, stakeholder collaboration and efficient port operations.Word count: Approximately 290 words, including the headline and excluding no substantive content.
