Managwu Emerges First Female HATMAN President

...Badaki takes over as BOT chairman

Dr. Lilian Managwu has emerged as the new president of the Hospitality and Tourism Management Association of Nigeria (HATMAN), setting a record as the association’s first female president after the elective Annual General Meeting of the Association held in Abuja last weekend.

Also saddled with the responsibility to guide association and provide direction, is Alhaji Aliyu Badaki, a former president of the association, now chairs the Board of Trustees of the prestigious hospitality management group.

Dr. Managwu, in her acceptance speech, promised to take association to greater heights, even as she urged the newly elected members of the executive to bring their wealth of experience to bear in providing leadership in the industry.

Her words: “We shall work hard, very hard to justify this confidence and trust in our new leadership. Even though we can’t do it all alone, we shall lead by example, intentionally committed to sacrificially growing our association and to a large extent the entire industry through collaboration and partnerships.”

Other executives elected with Dr. Managwu, are Alhaji Yunusa Muhammed, first Vice President; Dr. Ibrahim Kukoyi as second Vice-President; Chief Godwin Enanta – Zonal Chairman, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Alhaji Salisu Talle – Zonal Chairman, North West; Dr. Ndidi Ezeibe – Zonal Chairman – South East; Mrs. Alheri Jibi Zim – Zonal Chairlady, North East; Mrs Adetola Olagunju – Zonal Chairlady, South West; Mrs. Charity Abu – Zonal Chairlady, North Central; and Mr. Ademola Reuben Igbo – Financial Secretary.

The new executives also include; Prince Ayodele Arokoyo as Assistant Secretary; Mr. Chimezie Mike – Publicity Secretary; Dr. Ebikaboere Seimodei as Zonal chairlady, South-South region; and Mrs. Felicia Peters as National Tressurer.
