The African Association of Professional Freight Forwarders and Logistics of Nigeria (APFFLON) has congratulated the Acting Comptroller of the Federal Operations Unit (FOU), Customs Zone A, DC Oladapo Afeni, on his birthday.
The association equally commended his leadership and his cooperation with the trade community while at Ogun 1 Customs Command.
In a goodwill message, APFFLON National President, Otunba Frank Ogunojemite, said the Comptroller’s leadership at FOU Zone A is expected to build on his modest accomplishments at Ogun 1 with a combination of firmness and fairness.
“On behalf of the National Executive Council and members of APFFLON, I warmly congratulate DC Afeni on this special occasion. His leadership at FOU Zone A will reflect professionalism, discipline and respect for due process. That was his amazing leadership style at Ogun 1 Command,” Ogunojemite said.
He noted that the Federal Operations Unit plays a key role in enforcing Customs regulations and curbing smuggling. He said this work is most effective when enforcers and operators understand one another.
“Enforcement and trade facilitation can go hand in hand when leadership is disciplined and open to dialogue. DC Afeni has shown that balance, and our members appreciate it,” he added.
The APFFLON president said the association values the working relationship it has built with the unit. He pledged members’ continued support for lawful trade and Customs’ revenue and security mandate.
“We pray that God grants him good health, wisdom and strength to keep serving the nation with distinction. APFFLON looks forward to deepening this partnership for the good of the maritime and logistics sector,” Ogunojemite said.
He wished the Comptroller many more years of impactful service and personal fulfilment.
