- There may never be anyone like Orakwusi – WISTA President
The leadership and members of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has joined the nation’s maritime industry in mourning its diamond, Late Barr. (Mrs.) Margaret Orakwusi who died recently.
Speaking on the sad development, the President of WISTA Nigeria, Mrs. Eunice Ezeoke lamented that there may never be any other female personality to deliver the level of impact, magnanimity and counsel availed by Orakwusi over the years.
The statement signed by WISTA President, Ezeoke said: “WISTA Nigeria with the Maritime family was thrown into deep shock by the sad news of Margaret Orakwusi’s sudden death. A composite multitasker, Margaret was an industry icon. Her entrepreneurial excellence saw her traversing through her core legal profession, jetty operations, fish trawling, Board memberships, committees and various philanthropies,”
“A soft spoken and enigmatic lady with demure, almost shy smiles that bellies razor sharp brilliance. A loving and doting mother to her lovely children, she was a mentor and a great supporter of women professional associations not only in the Industry.”
“She was a devout Catholic. A very modest and understated lady. Someone described her as an angel on a brief sojourn to earth. We couldn’t agree more! Indeed, there may never be another like Margaret Orakwusi in the Maritime Family. Rest in Peace till resurrection day our iconic WISTA Diamond Margaret!”
