Shippers’ Council Unveils Online Registration Portal For Onne Port Users

The nation’s port economic regulator, Nigerian Shippers’ Council (NSC) has launched an Online Registration Portal for service providers and users of port services operating at Onne Port in Rivers State.

Speaking at the launch, the Executive Secretary of the Council, Barr. Akutah Pius, MON, said that the launching of online registration portal was in line with Shippers’ Council Port Economic Regulation 2015, Part 11, Section 4 (1) which mandates the Council to register all regulated service providers and users operating at the nation’s seaports.

The NSC boss, who was represented by the Director, South – South Zone, Mr. Glory Onojedo, described the launching of the online registration portal as a milestone as the Council’s portal has been upgraded from manual registration to a fully automated registration.

According to him, the registration provides a database of service providers, as well as genuine shoppers and other stakeholders operating at the ports.

He expressed optimism that the launching of the portal would create a seamless process for registration on the electronic portal

According to him, Nigerian Shipper’s Council as Port Economic Regulator provides effective registration for the control of tariffs, chatges and other related services.
