Master mariner and former Interior Minister, Capt. Emmanuel Ihenacho; pioneer President of the Ship Owners Association of Nigeria and Starzs Group Chairman, Engr. Greg Ogbeifun; and former National President of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) and CEO, Skellas Group, Prince Olayiwola Shittu JP, have confirmed attendance at the Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria) reception for its past presidents.
The event holds Friday, April 24, 2026, at Rockview Hotel, Apapa, Lagos, and is expected to attract top figures across the maritime value chain as more stakeholders signal participation.
Organised to honour former MARAN presidents for their contributions, the reception will also host dignitaries from government agencies under the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, alongside corporate organisations and industry groups.
In a statement, MARAN said preparations are complete, describing the ceremony as a landmark gathering to celebrate leadership, service, and the role of maritime journalism in shaping policy and driving sectoral growth.
Chairman of the MARAN Caretaker Committee, Tunde Ayodele, noted the event will deepen collaboration between the media and industry players amid ongoing sector reforms, while the Planning Committee Chairman, Funsho Olojo, said strong stakeholder support underscores its significance.
Olojo added the reception will spotlight the achievements of past leaders who have excelled across sectors, reinforcing MARAN’s legacy as a leading maritime beat association.
The programme will feature awards, goodwill messages, and networking sessions aimed at strengthening industry engagement while celebrating excellence in maritime journalism.
