- Group congratulates Tunji-Ojo on Ministerial appointment
A group known as Asiwaju Maritime Network, has advised the federal government to amend the newly created Marine and Blue Economy Ministry to be known as Maritime Ministry.
The group argued that the nomenclature Minister of Maritime Affairs will be in line with the provision of the Merchant Shipping Act, which is said to be in contrast to current name ‘Marine and Blue Economy’.
While disclosing this in a statement signed by the National Secretary of the Association, Shehu Popoola-Taiwo, the organization expressed satisfaction with the provision of a separate ministry to address the diverse needs of maritime in the country.
“On behalf of the Leadership and Members of the Asiwaju Maritime Network, warmly extend our heartiest congratulations to Honourable Olubunmi Tunji Ojo on his esteemed appointment as the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy for the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
“This appointment is a testament to Honourable Ojo’s remarkable dedication and exceptional leadership qualities. As the nation sets its sights on harnessing the potential of our marine resources, we are confident that Honourable Ojo’s guidance will lead us towards a vibrant and thriving blue economy. We believe that his unflinching commitment to environmental preservation will undoubtedly shape policies that ensure responsible and beneficial use of our marine wealth,” the statement read.
AMN also congratulated Hon. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo on this well-deserved appointment and wished him success in his new role as Minister.
“Under his astute leadership, we eagerly anticipate a brighter future for Nigeria’s marine and blue economy sectors. Congratulations once again, Honourable Minister. Your dedication and passion are an inspiration to us all,” it concluded.
