Safari Valley Eco Resort in Dawu, Ghana’s Eastern Region, has intensified efforts to attract Nigerian tourists following the conclusion of a five-day familiarisation tour by the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA).
The visit culminated in an executive dinner at the eco-resort on July 21, bringing together tourism stakeholders from Nigeria and Ghana to strengthen collaboration and promote intra-African travel.
The retreat provided NANTA executives with first-hand experience of Ghana’s tourism offerings while creating opportunities for strategic partnerships aimed at developing attractive travel packages for Nigerian tourists.
Addressing participants, Ghana’s Deputy Minister of Tourism called for stronger tourism ties between Nigeria and Ghana, urging both countries to leverage their shared cultural and historical heritage to accelerate tourism growth.
The minister’s remarks align with Ghana’s broader tourism strategy, which identifies Nigeria as one of its most important source markets. Stakeholders at the event also advocated the removal of barriers to regional travel, insisting that easier movement across African borders would unlock greater opportunities for tourism businesses.
Hosting the Nigerian delegation was Safari World, the parent company of Safari Valley Eco Resort, founded by renowned forest scientist and conservationist, Samuel Afari.
