Comptroller Oshoba Charges Newly Promoted Officers To Strengthen Compliance, Boost Revenue

The Customs Area Controller of Apapa Command, Comptroller Emmanuel Oshoba, has urged newly promoted officers of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) at Apapa to enhance the Command’s revenue drive and strengthen compliance.

Oshoba, while addressing the newly promoted officers, described the promotions as a reward for excellence, innovation, and dedication to service, noting that the NCS expects even greater commitment from the beneficiaries in revenue generation and trade facilitation.

“I expect you to make a positive impact in your new roles, contribute to revenue generation, strengthen asset-based management, and ensure compliance with trade regulations for economic growth and national security.”

He also appreciated the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, and the NCS management for ensuring that merit remained the basis for the promotion exercise.

Encouraging officers who were not promoted, Oshoba advised them to remain diligent and focused, assuring that their efforts would be recognized in future exercises.

Meanwhile, he charged all personnel to uphold integrity, professionalism, and diligence in the discharge of their duties, stressing that the ultimate goal is to strengthen the Service and contribute to national development.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, a Chief Superintendent of Customs, Bello Abdullahi, expressed profound gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the management of the Nigeria Customs Service, and Comptroller-General, Adeniyi, for finding them worthy of elevation.
