The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has approved a fresh round of strategic deployments, appointing Deputy Comptroller Nura Miko as the Acting Area Controller of the Ports Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) Command.
Miko, a multiple award-winning Customs officer, previously served as Deputy Comptroller in charge of revenue at the Apapa Port Command, where he played a key role in revenue generation and compliance enforcement.
He is expected to assume office from Joe Anani, who has now been redeployed to the Tin Can Island Port Command as part of the ongoing restructuring within the Service.
The appointment follows Miko’s widely acknowledged performance at the Apapa Command, where he reportedly led a team of Customs officers that uncovered more than N241 billion in unpaid government revenue through comprehensive system audits and compliance checks.
Sources within the Service disclosed that a significant portion of the outstanding revenue has already been recovered following the discovery and subsequent enforcement actions.
In recognition of his contribution to revenue recovery and enforcement operations, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, presented Miko with a Certificate of Excellence during the 2025 CGC Conference.
The honour was awarded for his outstanding performance and commitment to strengthening accountability and boosting government revenue within the Customs system.
Meanwhile, the Service also announced the elevation of Frank Onyeka to the rank of Acting Assistant Comptroller-General of Customs as part of the latest postings and administrative restructuring.
The recent redeployments are seen as part of ongoing efforts by the Customs leadership to strengthen operational efficiency, improve revenue collection and reposition key commands for enhanced service delivery.
