The International Maritime Institute of Nigeria (IMION) has opened registration for a three-day Executive Training Programme designed to strengthen leadership capacity and accelerate sustainable growth in Nigeria’s blue economy.

The executive-level programme will focus on critical areas including maritime logistics, port operations, trade facilitation, regional trade corridors, customs modernisation and environmental, social and governance (ESG) frameworks.

According to IMION, the training is targeted at senior stakeholders across the maritime and logistics ecosystem, including maritime and port authority executives, government officials and policymakers, officers of the Nigeria Customs Service, state government representatives and private-sector logistics professionals.

Participants will gain practical insights into the fundamentals of the blue economy, port logistics operations and regional trade corridors, while exploring strategies for modernising customs processes and promoting sustainable maritime development.

The institute said the programme is designed to deepen understanding of ocean policy, strengthen national human capital and position industry stakeholders to better identify and unlock global investment opportunities within the blue economy.

IMION’s Head of Communications and Marketing, Dr. Bashir Ambi, said the training would provide a platform for cross-sector engagement and knowledge exchange among key players in Nigeria’s maritime and supply chain industries.

Registration for the programme is currently open through the official portal, with participants required to upload proof of payment to complete their registration and secure access to course materials and participation certificates.

Physical participation costs N350,000, while virtual attendance is available for N150,000.

The programme is expected to provide participants with both technical knowledge and strategic perspectives needed to navigate Nigeria’s evolving maritime, logistics and blue economy landscape.
