A veteran maritime journalist and Publisher of Shipping World Magazine, Elder Asu Beks, has been nominated as one of the members of the National Single Window (NSW) Private Sector Consultative Forum.
The Director, National Single Window Project & Head of Project Secretariat, Tola Fakolade, disclosed this in a letter addressed to Asu Beks on Monday.
In the letter titled: “Nomination to the National Single Window (NSW) Private Sector Consultative Forum”, the group said the appointment is in recognition of the vital role of the private sector to the success and sustainability of the NSW project.
“We are constituting the Private Sector Consultative Forum (PSCF). This forum will serve as an advisory council to the NSW project team, providing invaluable insights into the current challenges encountered in import and export processes and offering informed advice on potential solutions for streamlining these processes.
“Furthermore, the forum will play a vital role in facilitating dialogues and town hall meetings with the wider business community, ensuring that the National Single Window achieves true transformational impact for the private sector.
“The members of the forum will also act as advocates for the project, promoting its adoption and benefits across the trading community. Membership of the PSCF will comprise representatives from companies actively involved in trade facilitation, relevant trade associations, and advocacy groups,” the letter read in part.
Elder Asu Beks is a maritime journalist with over 3 decades of industry experience. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of Maritime Media Limited and Convener of the annual Maritime Industry Merit Awards (MIMA).
