The Lagos State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) have forged a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening professional development, ethical communication and capacity building across Nigeria’s organised private sector.

The collaboration framework was established during a courtesy visit by the NIPR Lagos leadership, led by Chairman, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, to the President and Chairman of Council of the LCCI, Engr. Leye Kupoluyi, in Lagos.

Under the partnership, both institutions will jointly organise specialised training programmes, workshops and professional engagements targeted at entrepreneurs, corporate executives, business leaders and communication professionals. The initiative is designed to deepen communication competencies and improve stakeholder engagement across sectors of the economy.

Speaking during the engagement, Kupoluyi reaffirmed the LCCI’s commitment to strategic partnerships that enhance business competitiveness and sustainability in Nigeria.

He stressed that effective public relations and strategic communication have become increasingly vital in promoting trade, attracting investment, building stakeholder confidence and strengthening corporate reputation in a rapidly evolving business environment.

“Strategic communication remains central to sustainable business growth and market competitiveness,” he noted, adding that stronger collaboration between the organised private sector and communication professionals would help businesses navigate emerging economic realities.

On his part, Ayetutu described communication as a critical asset for organisational growth, reputation management and long-term sustainability.

“Effective communication is no longer a peripheral function, but a critical driver of business growth, reputation management and stakeholder engagement in today’s dynamic economic landscape,” he said.

According to him, the collaboration would equip businesses with the strategic communication tools required to navigate complex markets, build trust and attract sustainable investments.

The meeting also explored future joint initiatives focused on promoting ethical communication standards, strengthening institutional relationships and expanding knowledge-sharing between communication professionals and the business community.

Members of the NIPR Lagos delegation at the meeting included General Secretary, Samuel O. Adeyemi; Treasurer, Bamiji Adeleye; and Assistant General Secretary and IT Officer, Rita Ali-Nock.

Representatives of the LCCI present included Sunday Osanyintuyi, Mrs. Abosede Okeyemi and Yeye Shobanjo.

The partnership marks a significant move by the NIPR Lagos Chapter to deepen strategic alliances that promote professional excellence, economic growth and impactful communication practice in Nigeria.
