The President of National Association of Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), Hon. Tochukwu Ezisi has called on all Muslim faithfuls, especially freight forwarders to use this year’s Eid-el Kabir celebration to pray for peace and stability in the country.
Ezisi made this call in a statement addressed to Muslims in celebration of Eid-el Kabir today, stating that Nigeria is going through difficult times and only prayers and peaceful co-existence could help the nation.
The NAGAFF President also congratulated the new Minister of Transportation, Mu’azu Jaji Sambo on his appointment by President Muhammadu Buhari, even as he assured the Minister of the support of NAGAFF and strategic partnership for greater success.
“I want to use this opportunity to congratulate the Minister of Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Sambo on his appointment. The maritime sector is very strategic to the economy of the nation. Freight forwarders are facing a lot of challenges and these challenges are man-made issues that require policy readjustments,” he said.
Meanwhile, he expressed optimism that the new Transportation Minister would consult industry professionals, such as NAGAFF to truly understand the plight of practitioners and promote trade facilitation.
Noting that NAGAFF election in the Western Zone is around the corner, Ezisi said NECOM is working hard to ensure there are credible elections in the different chapters.
“I want to assure all candidates vying for different offices of our commitment to deliver credible elections. Happy celebration to all our Muslim brothers,” he added.
