After weeks of stakeholder engagements, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) is set to implement an updated version of the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) valuation system which captures accidented vehicles, depreciation in value and other challenges earlier identified by freight agents. Barely three weeks after the federal government directed the reopening of the land borders, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has intercepted eight trailers of 50kg bags of rice, among other seizures worth N100,132,756 at Ogun 1 Command. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested the Accountant-General of the Federation, Mr. Ahmed Idris, in connection with alleged diversion of funds and money laundering to the tune of N80bn. The spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, disclosed this in a statement on Monday titled, ‘EFCC arrests Ahmed Idris, Accountant General of the Federation, for N80bn Fraud’. A popular Nollywood actor, Leo Mezie, has died at 46. Born Leonard Chimezie Onyemachi, it was gathered that he died on Saturday while recovering from a kidney transplant.
