PSKorner, a new security knowledge and thought leadership platform, has been unveiled to reposition security as a strategic driver of business resilience, organisational confidence and national development.
Founded by Buduka Julia Addey, Managing Director of EPSS Private Security Services Limited and National General Secretary of the Association of Licensed Private Security Practitioners of Nigeria (ALPSPN), PSKorner brings security professionals, business leaders, policymakers, researchers, facility managers and other decision-makers into conversations on emerging risks, technology, leadership, governance and professional practice.
The platform is being launched against a backdrop of increasingly complex security threats capable of disrupting operations, damaging assets, weakening supply chains and eroding stakeholder confidence.
Addey said organisations must move beyond viewing security primarily through guards, gates and surveillance equipment, arguing that it should be integrated into corporate strategy, enterprise risk management, governance and business continuity planning.
“PSKorner is a knowledge-driven platform believing that if people have the right information, they will take rational, informed decisions, transforming how individuals, organisations, and industries think about security,” she remarked.
She added that the platform would use expert interviews, case studies, practical frameworks and real-world experiences to help organisations make better-informed security decisions and derive greater value from their security investments.
“Better security begins with better thinking,” she said.
PSKorner has already begun extending its engagement beyond Nigeria, with the platform taking its security conversation to Cape Town, South Africa, during the 2026 ASIS Sub-Saharan Africa Security Conference (SASCON).
The engagement connected PSKorner with African and international security professionals and explored issues including professional development, leadership, risk management and the changing security environment.
Among those featured was Eddie Sorrells, President of ASIS International, who shared insights from a career that began more than three decades ago as a security officer working the midnight shift while attending college before advancing into senior leadership.
His experience provided a basis for discussions on career development, leadership and knowledge transfer within the security profession.
“People need to hear our story, not so we can build ourselves up, but so we can build up other people through our story,” Sorrells said.
PSKorner also recorded interviews in Cape Town with Evan Steinberg, Eva Nolle, Tobias See, Sienna Dutkowski and Capt. Joe Awuni, which are scheduled for release as individual episodes.
Addey said the international engagement was part of PSKorner’s ambition to give African security professionals and experience a stronger voice in global security discussions.
Her words: “Meaningful conversations are built by communities that believe in sharing knowledge. Cape Town showed us what becomes possible when professionals connect, support one another and share their experiences for the benefit of the wider profession.”
The Cape Town engagement was supported by ASIS International Lagos Chapter 206, of which Addey is a member, alongside professionals from the wider ASIS and Nigerian security communities.
PSKorner’s broader focus will cover security intelligence, technology, risk governance, leadership, resilience, professional standards and the evolving relationship between public and private security.
Through the platform, Addey seeks to create a sustained forum for professionals to challenge conventional assumptions, exchange practical experience and develop approaches that strengthen security practice, business continuity and national resilience.
