NPCC Vice Chairperson ‘Anishere’ Bags CILT Fellowship

The newly appointed Vice Chairperson of Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC), Jean Chiazor Anishere (SAN), has been conferred fellowship of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transportation (CILT) Nigeria.

Anishere, who is also Principal Partner, Anishere and Partners, was conferred CILT Fellowship on Wednesday at the just-concluded Annual General Meeting (AGM) and National Transport Conference at NICON Luxury hotel, Abuja.

The new accolade comes two days after the Learned Silk was appointed as the Vice Chairperson of NPCC.

Anishere is also the Maritime Legal Consultant to the Nigerian House of Representatives’ Committee on Marine; and Vice President of Maritime Arbitrators Association of Nigeria (MAAN).

She is equally a successful author, having already written five volumes of Essays in Admiralty – a comprehensive collection of essays and learned papers focused on maritime law, published by one of UK’s prominent publishers in Maritime books – Petrospot UK. Jean’s books are also found in the British Council Libraries.

The veteran lawyer is also the Editor-In-Chief of Admiralty Law Reports of Nigeria, volumes 1-32 (A compendium of Judgments on Admiralty Matters in Nigeria, through the Federal High Court, to the Supreme Court of Nigeria) with a comprehensive index of cases published so far.

She is also the Legal Adviser/Member of Women in Commonwealth Business Network, Nigeria (CBWN); Ex-officio Member, Nigerian Maritime Law Association (NMLA); Past President, Women in Shipping and Trade Association (WISTA-Nigeria); Past President, African Women in Maritime Organization (WIMA-Nigeria); Past Continental President, Women in Maritime Africa (WIMAFRICA); Financial Secretary to the Board of Senior Advocates of Nigeria (BOSAN); United Nations/African Union sole representative for African Women in Maritime (WIMAFRICA).
