WISTA Nigeria Assures Partnership With New Transport Minister ‘Sambo’

Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has said it is open to strategic partnership with the Ministry of Transportation to advance the cause of women in the nation’s maritime sector.

The group gave this assurance in a congratulatory letter signed by the WISTA Nigeria President, Mrs. Eunice Ezeoke and the Secretary, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika, addressed to the newly appointed Minister of Transportation, Alhaji Mu’azu Sambo.

Ezeoke also informed the Minister that WISTA International signed a memorandum of understanding with International Maritime Organization (IMO) on technical cooperation.

According to the group, the MOU with the IMO outlines how WISTA will partner in professionally advancing the place of woman in the industry for greater socio-economic development.

 

Part of the letter read; “We bring you compliments from the Board of Trustees, Executive and distinguished Members of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria. We write to extend to your Excellency our sincere and warmest wishes on your appointment as the Honourable Minister of Transportation.”

“Over the years, WISTA Nigeria have enjoyed the cooperation, support and partnership of your Ministry. We look forward to strengthen our collaboration with your office for the continuous growth of the transport sector.”
