The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has commended the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy and the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) on the commissioning and official launch of the Cabotage Vessel Financing Fund (CVFF) Application Portal, describing it as a major milestone in the digital transformation of Nigeria’s maritime sector.
In a statement signed by its President, Dr. Odunayo Ani, WISTA Nigeria congratulated the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, CON, and the Director-General of NIMASA, Dr. Dayo Mobereola, for what it termed a strategic and forward-looking initiative that would enhance transparency, improve access to funding, and boost stakeholder confidence.
The association noted that the portal represents a practical response to long-standing industry demands for a more efficient, inclusive and technology-driven funding process, while also strengthening accountability in the management of the CVFF.
According to WISTA Nigeria, the initiative reflects strong leadership and a clear commitment by the Federal Government to modernise maritime administration, deepen stakeholder engagement and unlock new investment opportunities within the marine and blue economy.
Dr. Ani further reaffirmed the support of women maritime professionals for policies and platforms that promote equity, professionalism and innovation, stressing that WISTA Nigeria remains committed to partnering with government and industry players to build a more resilient, competitive and inclusive maritime sector.
