The President of Voice of Women (VoW) Foundation for Peace and Unity, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika, has been inducted into the prestigious MMS Woman of Fortune Hall of Fame.
Anyika, who was one of 15 high-performing Nigerian women leaders inducted into the 2024 MMS Hall of Fame, is also a Deputy Director at the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
Speaking after her induction ceremony in Abuja on Wednesday, Anyika said: “This MMS Hall of Fame platform and this conference reemphasizes the need for women to support, coach and build one another.”
“As women leaders, it’s our responsibility to look out for other females who are going through issues and challenges that we have surmounted.
“We can teach and advise younger women on the best approaches to attaining success as well as the paths to avoid pitfalls.”
She encouraged the new inductees to continue to lead exemplary lives as mentors for young Nigerian women, even as she advised all stakeholders to continue supporting initiatives that enhance gender equality.
The new MMS Hall of Fame Inductee ‘Anyika’ is also the Chairperson of Women in Maritime and Energy Awards, a group at the forefront of efforts to bridge the gender gap in the maritime and energy sectors, promoting diversity and inclusion.
Anyika is also a Fellow at the Chartered Institute of Transport Administration (CIOTA) Nigeria where she has served as the National Publicity Secretary and has been re-elected for another two year term in that role.
She is the Vice President, Nigeria Institute of Shipping (NIS) and equally the erstwhile National Secretary of Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria.
