He noted that Adeniyi’s election as the first Nigerian to occupy this global position reflects his integrity, strategic vision and dedication to excellence.

SIFAX Group boss expressed confidence that his stewardship will deliver immense benefits to the WCO Council through progressive impact on global trade facilitation, customs modernization and international collaboration.

Meanwhile, the Head of Research at SEREC, Chief Eugene Nweke, posited that Adeniyi’s leadership at NCS has brought a refreshing style that is result-driven, innovative, and people-oriented.

“The revenue growth from N3.2 trillion in 2023 to N6.105 trillion in 2024 is a testament to your effective policies and commitment to blocking leakages and tightening enforcement.

“However, we urge you to remain focused on the broader economic implications of your policies. While revenue growth is essential, it is equally important to ensure that the manufacturing and exporting sectors are flourishing, and cargo throughput is increasing. The current inflationary trends in the country also require careful consideration.

“Once again, we congratulate you on your achievements and look forward to continued progress under your leadership,” SEREC boss said.

Similarly, the nation’s leading body of maritime journalists, MARAN, has also extended its warmest congratulations to the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adeniyi, on his historic election as Chairman of the WCO Council.

The President of MARAN, Mr. Godfrey Bivbere hailed the appointment as a “well-deserved global recognition” of CGC Adeniyi’s visionary leadership.

The MARAN President emphasized that this achievement is not just a win for Nigeria but a significant milestone for Africa and international trade.

“At MARAN, we are proud to celebrate this milestone and look forward to more strategic engagements under his forward-thinking leadership,” he added.

MARAN commended CGC Adeniyi’s commitment to Customs modernization, transparency, and regional trade integration.
