As part of its advocacy role in the nation’s maritime sector, the Nigerian Chamber of Shipping (NCS) is scheduled to host the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON, and other port stakeholders in strategic summit to unlock opportunities for Lekki deep seaport.
The breakfast meeting, scheduled to be held on Tuesday at Black Diamond hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, by 9am, is themed: “Unlocking Opportunities: The Lekki Deep Seaport Playbook for Transforming Trade and Shipping in Nigeria”.
Speaking ahead of the event, the Director General of NCS, Mrs. Vivian Chimezie-Azubuike, expressed optimism that the conference will demystify existing challenges at the nation’s deepest seaport and position the port for sub-regional dominance.
While noting that the President of NCS, Mr. Aminu Umar, will be the host; Vivian stated that the Blue Economy Minister, Adegboyega Oyetola, will deliver a keynote address even as the Managing Director/CEO, Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, Mr. Wang Qiang, functions at the Guest Speaker.
Panelists, however, include; the Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho; National President, Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Sir Emenike Nwokeoji; National President, Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Engr. (Dr.) Jani Ibrahim OON.
Other panelists include; Customs Area Controller, Lekki Free Zone Command, Comptroller Olanrewaju Olumoh and the Managing Director, CMA CGM Nigeria, Mr. Hinelder Ferreira; with a former Director General of Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Temisan Omatseye, serving as the Moderator.
The NCS Director General, Vivian, enjoined port stakeholders – especially those who patronise the Lekki deep seaport – to register for the paid-for event.
