Pastor Evelyn Joshua, leader of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), has urged Brazilians and other worshippers not to interpret delayed answers to prayers as God’s rejection, stressing that His promises remain certain regardless of present circumstances.
She gave the charge during the second day of the SCOAN Crusade in São Paulo, Brazil, where she encouraged worshippers to remain steadfast in faith while embracing truth, love, obedience and a personal relationship with God.
Pastor Evelyn Joshua said God desires His people to experience healing, fulfilment and happiness, urging them not to allow difficult circumstances to weaken their confidence in His promises.
“Every good thing of life you see today was created by your Heavenly Father. If it is sinful for you to have them, God will not create them and promise that you may have them. God promises that you will be physically healed, fulfilled and happy,” she said, while citing Ecclesiastes 10:10 and encouraging the congregation to embrace wisdom and contentment.
Addressing worshippers who may feel forgotten when prayers appear unanswered, the SCOAN leader declared that divine silence should not be mistaken for rejection.
“Christ never rejects anyone who turns to Him again. Nothing can separate you from the love of God. Whatever your situation may look like, do not misinterpret God’s silence for rejection,” she said.
Drawing from the biblical account of the woman with the issue of blood, Pastor Evelyn Joshua prayed for the removal of shame, sickness and affliction from the lives of worshippers.
“The God that removed the garment of shame, sickness, affliction from the woman with the issue of blood, He will remove your shame and sickness, in Jesus’ name,” she declared, adding, “You will receive the wind of glory!”
She said believers must combine faith with obedience, love and truth to fully embrace God’s promises, urging the congregation to love God and others, obey His commandments and present their needs to God in the name of Jesus Christ.
Reading from Numbers 23:19-20, she emphasised the certainty of God’s word, telling worshippers not to allow their present circumstances to determine their expectations.
“Whatever God has decreed will always come to pass, no matter how many promises He has made,” she said, urging the congregation to rejoice over the blowing of the “winds of glory”.
“God Almighty is with you. He has given all of us the grace to be an effective witness for Him,” she added.
Pastor Evelyn Joshua also challenged the worshippers to change the way they speak about themselves, particularly concerning weakness, illness and limitations.
“Jesus Christ has conquered all, having broken every chain over our lives. Stop talking at the level of your old life of weakness, illness, limitation; learn to speak the good language, for the word you speak dominates you,” she said.
Citing Psalm 101:6, the SCOAN leader further encouraged worshippers to remain committed to God, noting that those who walk in faith are not superhuman but people who have demonstrated deep belief and commitment.
“They are not superhuman but were committed, showing total belief and faith in God,” she said, assuring the congregation that “that same God will work with you today.”
The Brazil crusade also ended on a celebratory note, with Pastor Evelyn Joshua receiving two awards in recognition of her contribution to global evangelism.
One of the awards was presented by Bruno Zambelli, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of São Paulo, while Pastor Willy Acosta presented the other. Pastor Evelyn Joshua expressed appreciation to the people and government of Brazil for the honours.
The second day of the São Paulo crusade drew worshippers into an atmosphere of prayer, worship and expectation, with the SCOAN leader’s message centred on maintaining faith in God’s promises even when answers appear delayed.
