Customs HQ Begins Personnel Audit At Tin Can Island Port

In line with the directives from the Head of Service of the Federation for personnel management, Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has kicked off the audit of officers from the Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Command, today.

News Diet recalls that the Service had on 15th May 2024 issued out a circular for the comprehensive audit of all its personnel.

TCIP played host to the team of officers from the Service Headquarters led by Comptroller Welfare HRD, Comptroller EJ Harrison; while other officers from Ports and Terminal Multiservices Limited (PTML) and Lilypond Area Commands are also expected to join the officers of the Tin Can Island Area Command in the exercise which will last from Monday (today) to Wednesday, 29th May 2024.

At a brief meeting today, Comptroller Harrison addressed officers with the respective Area Controllers of the select Commands – Compt. DA Nnadi mni (TCIP), Compt. TM Daniyan (PTML), and Compt. AY Odusanya (Lilipond), before kick-starting the audit exercise. L

Meanwhile, Comptroller Harrison instructed the officers to be of good conduct while the exercise is ongoing and promised that all officers from the various Area Commands will be attended to.

According to him, the exercise also gives room for officers to update their records and assist the Service in promotion exercise even as it helps identify the current status of officers of the various commands for effective deployment.

Also speaking, the Tin Can Island Area Controller, Comptroller Nnadi assured that the ongoing exercise will not disrupt port operations or activities along the port corridor during the 3-day audit period.

He, therefore, encouraged all categories of the port stakeholders to go about their respective activities as the exercise will not in any way hinder operations.

Nnadi equally reiterated that the primary goal of the Service is to facilitate trade professionally and effectively by ensuring competence-based human resource deployment.
