
Few days after promising special recognition for the transformative renovation of the Tin Can Island Port (TCIP) Customs Command, the Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, fulfilled his pledge as he awarded the TCIP Custom boss, Comptroller Dera Nnadi mni, two awards on Friday.
Comptroller Nnadi was presented a Special Recognition Award for Workplace Transformation and he also received the Comptroller General of Customs Gold Service Award medal.

Nnadi, after receiving these awards as well as a certificate of excellence, applauded the Customs CG, Adeniyi, for the accolades and for providing inspiring leadership for the officers and men of the NCS.
Speaking at the Comptroller General of Customs Award night on Friday, in Abuja, the TCIP Area Controller, Comptroller Nnadi, dedicated the awards to the Tincan Command officers, who he branded the Tincan rebrand and reform team.
It will be recalled that Tincan Command under Nnadi’s leadership has generated over one trillion naira revenue in 2024 being the first in the history of the Command.
According to Comptroller Nnadi, this milestone revenue generation achieved through the trade facilitation effort of the officers and men of the Command was complemented with effective enforcement and compliance.
Forty years after the initial construction of the TCIP Customs administrative building, Nnadi also carried out a transformational renovation and built a Quarter Guard podium and Police Gate House which was commissioned by the Comptroller General of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Adeniyi, recently.
News Diet recalls that the Customs CG, while presiding over the historic commissioning at the TCIP command described the new look of the Tincan Customs Command as an award-winning project to be celebrated at the NCS 2024 end-of-year awards.
