Olota of Ota, Prof. Obalanlege, Appointed Visiting Professor at Monarch University

Monarch University, Iyesi-Ota, Ogun State, has announced the appointment of the Olota of Ota, His Majesty, Prof. Abdulkabir Adeyemi Obalanlege, as a Visiting Professor of Mass Communication.

The appointment was formally conferred on November 7, 2025, during a special ceremony held at the University Auditorium and presided over by the Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Bishop Tom Samson.

Welcoming the royal guest, Bishop Samson described the appointment as a significant addition to the university’s growing academic profile, noting that Prof. Obalanlege’s wealth of experience in academia and leadership would inspire both students and faculty.

In his acceptance remarks, Prof. Obalanlege commended Monarch University for its serene academic environment and thanked the Chancellor for the honour.

He urged students to remain focused on their studies and respect their lecturers, emphasizing that discipline and dedication are key to academic success.

The traditional ruler, who is also a renowned scholar of Mass Communication, offered prayers for the continued growth of the university and the success of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. (Mrs.) Mopelola Omoegun, and her management team.

The event was attended by principal officers of the institution, members of the royal entourage, invited guests, staff, and students, marking yet another milestone in Monarch University’s pursuit of academic excellence and community partnership.
