Abia State Governor Alex Otti Appoints Economic Advisory Council

The Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti has appointed a distinguished Economic Advisory Council to enhance the economic development of the state.

The council includes notable figures such as; the Former Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, and the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.

Among the appointed members are Arunma Oteh, a former director-general of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), along with other experienced individuals. Governor Otti, speaking at the council’s inauguration, emphasized the importance of seeking guidance from the 19-member council, acknowledging that the state faces economic challenges, which he attributed to “economic sabotage.”

The governor expressed optimism about the council’s role in repositioning and rebuilding Abia State as an economic powerhouse in Nigeria.

He outlined the council’s objectives, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive understanding of both local and global economic landscapes.

Otti highlighted the importance of crafting economic development strategies aligned with emerging global trends
