The Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria (ATPN) has inaugurated its FCT Abuja Chapter, signaling a renewed push to position the nation’s capital as a key driver of Nigeria’s tourism growth.

The inauguration, held at Blu Cubana in Abuja, brought together leading tourism stakeholders, investors, and policymakers.

ATPN National President, Prince Femi Fadina, who presided over the historic ceremony, described it as “a bold declaration that tourism in Nigeria is alive, vibrant, and ready to flourish in the corridors of power.”

Fadina challenged the Abuja Chapter to see itself as the face of tourism before policymakers, the voice before investors, and the strength of the association before the world.

He equally urged members to seize their strategic position at the nation’s seat of power to champion tourism-friendly policies and attract global attention.

Using the day’s rain as a metaphor, Fadina said: “If the rain falls, don’t be troubled – it is no disruption; it is endorsement. These showers are blessings, washing the ground clean so your chapter may grow strong, fruitful, and enduring.”

Abigail Olagbaye, ATPN Vice President for FCT, hailed the launch as a “turning point for tourism advocacy in Abuja,” while newly elected Chairperson Juli Oyeta pledged the chapter’s commitment to innovation and professionalism.

The vibrant event set the tone for what many attendees described as a new era for Nigerian tourism, with ATPN reaffirming its mission to empower practitioners, attract investment, and position Abuja as a tourism hub in West Africa.
