On Saturday, the Maritime community gathered in elegance and unity to celebrate a milestone birthday for one of her own — Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun — who marked her 40th birthday in grand style at the Civic Centre, Ozumba Mbadiwe Road, Victoria Island, Lagos.

The glamorous celebration for Iroghama, fondly called ‘Iro’ began with vibrant photo booths and a thrilling red-carpet experience in the evening; setting a festive and glamorous tone for the night.
From live music and elegant decor to top-tier entertainment, the soirée reflected the grace, excellence, and poise that Ms. Ogbeifun embodies.
The event brought together a host of distinguished guests, including Past Presidents, Diamonds, the Public Relations Officer of WISTA Nigeria, and other notable figures from across the maritime industry – all present to honour and celebrate Ms. Ogbeifun’s contributions and achievements.

One of the special highlights of the evening was a goodwill message delivered by the President of WISTA Nigeria, Dr. Odunayo Ani, on behalf of all the female maritime associations present.

During her speech, Odunayo celebrated Ms. Ogbeifun’s leadership, resilience, and her role as a shining example for women in the nation’s shipping industry.

“Your commitment to advancing women in maritime has been unwavering. Whether through cadetship opportunities, strategic mentorship, or your dynamic presence in industry fora, you have become a beacon of inspiration for young women navigating traditionally male-dominated waters.
“Through your active role in WISTA Nigeria, particularly your advocacy for youth engagement and professional development, you have helped strengthen the fabric of our association. You are not just a member—you are a force,” the WISTA President said.

It was a night of celebration, camaraderie, and recognition — a fitting tribute to a woman who continues to inspire excellence across the maritime sector.

News Diet recalls that only few weeks ago, the new quadragenarian, Iroghama, was appointed and inaugurated as a Governing Board member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
