The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has called on stakeholders across the maritime and blue economy to deepen collaboration and recommit to actions that will deliver greater impact as Nigeria steps into 2026.
In a New Year message to members and industry stakeholders, MARAN Chairman, Mr. Tunde Ayodele, described 2026 as a “year of greater impact,” emphasizing the need for improved service delivery, accountability and more incisive maritime reportage to support national development.
Ayodele noted that the collective contributions of stakeholders in the outgoing year played a significant role in advancing the growth of the maritime sector, urging all players to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation in the new year.
According to him, effective collaboration remains key to unlocking the full potential of Nigeria’s maritime industry and positioning the sector as a strategic driver of economic growth.
“United, we can make Nigeria proud by contributing our quota to national development, each from our own little corner,” he said.
The MARAN chairman reaffirmed the association’s readiness to partner with public and private institutions across the maritime value chain, stressing that strong partnerships are essential to building a maritime sector that is globally admired and respected.
He also expressed appreciation to organisations, agencies and individuals for their support and cooperation throughout 2025, while calling for renewed commitment in 2026.
Ayodele concluded by wishing MARAN members and maritime stakeholders a prosperous new year, welcoming them to what he described as a defining year of greater impact for the maritime industry and the nation.
