The National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB) has announced that globally renowned theatre and film icon, Bolanle Austen-Peters (BAP), will deliver the keynote address at the 5th edition of the Peace Anyiam-Osigwe Nigerian Digital Content Regulatory Conference (PAO NDCRC).
The event is scheduled for November 18–19, 2025, at the MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos.
This year’s conference, themed “From Volume to Value: Future of Nollywood in the Digital Age,” will explore how Nigeria’s dynamic film and creative content industry can move from sheer output to sustainable value creation.
BAP’s keynote is expected to set the tone for two days of high-level conversations featuring regulators, policymakers, creatives, investors, and academics.
“BAP is a natural choice for this year’s keynote. She embodies the perfect blend of artistic excellence, innovation, and business acumen that Nollywood must embrace in the digital age,” said Dr. Shaibu Husseini, Executive Director of NFVCB.
“Her remarkable contributions to theatre and film demonstrate the kind of value-driven storytelling that this year’s conference theme champions.”
Austen-Peters, widely celebrated as the “Queen of Nigerian Theatre,” is the founder of Terra Kulture and BAP Productions. She has staged hit musicals such as Saro the Musical and Fela & the Kalakuta Queens and produced critically acclaimed feature films including The Bling Lagosians and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti. Her works have toured internationally, earning global recognition for elevating African narratives and spotlighting Nigeria’s cultural heritage.
Now in its fifth year, the PAO NDCRC has grown into the nation’s leading platform for shaping the future of content regulation and Nollywood’s digital evolution.
Last year’s edition featured media mogul Mo Abudu as keynote speaker, reinforcing the conference’s status as a meeting ground for the industry’s most influential voices.
With Austen-Peters headlining this year’s event, expectations are high that her keynote will inspire bold thinking and chart a new path for Nollywood’s growth in the digital-first era.
