The Nigerian Ports Consultative Council (NPCC) has successfully concluded its first-ever training on onshore and offshore port operations, setting a new benchmark in capacity building for the nation’s maritime industry.
Hosted in Lagos, the 3-day programme brought together senior stakeholders to exchange knowledge and strengthen professionalism in port management.
With presentations covering global versus local port operations, smart port innovations, and offshore facility integration, the sessions underscored the importance of aligning Nigerian ports with international best practices.
Participants were urged to embrace technology, compliance, and safety protocols to drive efficiency and sustainability across the sector.
Looking ahead, the NPCC announced plans to make the training a regular feature, positioning it as a platform for continuous professional development.
Stakeholders, however, expressed optimism that the initiative would not only boost port efficiency but also reinforce Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global maritime space.
