- Braimah decorates 7 newly promoted Police officers
Lagos Area Manager, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) Engr. Sarat Braimah, yesterday officially received the Lagos Area Police Commander of NIWA, Mr. Waziri Abbas, a Superintendent of Police.
The newly appointed NIWA Lagos Police boss was received at the CMS waterfront where Engr. Braimah also decorated seven newly promoted NIWA police officers who now wear new ranks of Assistant Superintendent of Police.
Adorning the officers with their new ranks, assisted by the new Police Area Commander, Braimah, expressed delight for the recognition and promotion of the officers even as she encouraged them to work harder to secure the waterways and provide necessary enabling environment for waterway transportation.
The NIWA Lagos Area Manager also promised to collaborate and engage the Police Area team to enable it deliver on its mandate, while she equally urged the new Police Area Commander to feel free to share any challenge with her office as she operates an open door policy.
Her words: “It is a double celebration for the area office under my watch and I am most pleased to welcome the new Police Area Commander and also congratulate the newly promoted officers.”
Speaking earlier, the Commander SP Waziri Abbas expressed happiness over the working relationship between the police department and the area office, while he vowed to sustain the relationship.
“We are highly motivated by your office, and we assure you that with the promotion of our personnel, we shall be more dedicated and committed to providing security backup to the activities of the Lagos NIWA Area office,” he said.
