The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr Bashir Jamoh will chair the the League of Maritime Editors and Publishers (LOMEP) one-day workshop/seminar scheduled to take place at the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), TOPO, Badagry, tomorrow.
The sole lecture of the programme will be delivered by Mr. Charles Okorefe, a time tested maritime resource person, writer, publisher and maritime teacher at the Nigerian Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State.
Okorefe will be speaking on, “The role of technology in trade facilitation and smuggling suppression.”
Other guests at expected at the occasion include; Otunba Kunle Folarin, Chairman of the National Seafarers Welfare Board of Nigeria, as Special Guest of Honour; Alhaji Olayiwola Shittu, former President of ANLCA; Dr Boniface Aniebonam, founder of NAGAFF; Dr. Kayode Farinto, acting President of ANLCA, Customs Area Controllers of Tin Can lsland, Seme, Apapa, Compt A.A Oloyede, Compt M.A Jibo and Compt Malanta Yusuf, respectively; and the Controller, Federal Operations Unit, Deputy Compt HK Ejibunu.
According to a release by LOMEP Public Relations Officer, Deacon Friday Odemena, part of activities of the day will be the election of a new set of executive leadership that will paddle the canoe of the Association in the next two years.
He said the event is opened to all captains of the maritime industry, players and port users.
