Amid the celebration of 2025 Customer Service Week, the Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Dr. Dayo Mobereola, has reaffirmed that efficient service delivery remains central to the Agency’s mandate, emphasizing that excellence must first be cultivated internally before it can be extended to the public.
Speaking during the official launch of NIMASA’s 2025 Customer Service Week in Lagos, Dr. Mobereola said the agency is committed to transforming customer challenges into opportunities, fostering teamwork, and maintaining a culture of continuous improvement across all operations.
“Providing service is paramount, both internally and externally. We must remain prepared, committed, and available to solve problems together as a team. Excellence in service delivery defines who we are and what we represent,” he stated.
The NIMASA boss noted that the Agency’s focus on service excellence aligns with its core objectives of promoting maritime safety, security, and sustainability in Nigeria’s waters, adding that responsive service culture remains key to building public confidence and institutional growth.
Meanwhile, the Head of SERVICOM Unit, Hajiya Rakiyyah Lammai, commended the Director General for his unwavering support in strengthening customer service systems within the Agency. She observed that this year’s global theme “Mission: Possible” perfectly captures the resilience and dedication of NIMASA’s workforce in ensuring efficient service delivery.
The 2025 Customer Service Week was celebrated across all NIMASA offices nationwide, featuring staff recognition programmes, customer engagement activities, and feedback sessions designed to enhance responsiveness and efficiency.
At the Agency’s headquarters, the event was attended by Executive Directors and Management Staff, who jointly pledged to uphold NIMASA’s vision of service excellence as a foundation for maritime sector growth.
Disclosing this information in a press statement signed by Mr. Osagie Edward, NIMASA says it continues to advance safety, security, and sustainability in Nigeria’s maritime domain and the 2025 Customer Service Week underscores the Agency’s unwavering belief that service excellence is not just an aspiration, but a mandate.
