The Voice of Women (VoW) Foundation for Peace and Unity is set to hold a strategic virtual mentorship conference known as “Echoes Series”, where successful Nigerian women will be revealing career development and investment tips to other women.
Nigerian women are encouraged to participate in the meeting themed: “Women: Find Your Voice”, holding on Saturday, December 16th, 2023.
Speaking ahead of the programme, the President of VoW Foundation, Mrs. Chizoba Anyika said a group of Nigerian female role-models have been selected to inspire, guide and motivate younger women.
“It is a special time for women to learn survival, strategies, tactics and resilience required to become the women leader of their dreams,” she said.
According to her, the event underlines the maiden edition of ‘Echoes Series’ by the Foundation and the group intends to make significant impact across the nation with the first edition.
While the event will be moderated by Adaora Onyechere Sydney-Jack, the high-profile speakers include – the Director-General, National Centre for Women Development, Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir; Consultant/ Clarity Mindset Strategist, Dr. Mercy Abu Bello; Founder/ CEO Young Moms Support Initiative, HRM. AMB. Dr. Vivian Obiageli Egwuatu Nsirim; CEO, Men’s Luxury Wears Abuja, Funmi Bello; and a former Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Borno state, Dr. Juliana Bitrus.
Hon. (Dr.) Asabe Vilita Bashir is currently the Director-General, National Centre for Women Development. Her career started as a lecturer in the Department of Education, University of Maiduguri from 1989 to 2003. During her time in the classroom, she developed a burning desire to enter the political space. She joined politics and was elected Member, Borno State House of Assembly, twice 1997 and 2003. Later, Member Borno State Executive Council from 2005 to 2014 as Commissioner (Ministry of health; Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources; Ministry of Housing and Rural Electrification; Ministry of Poverty Alleviation and Youth Empowerment; Ministry of Women Affairs and Youth Development. She was elected to the House of Representatives where she represented Gwoza, Damboa and Chibok Federal Constituency between 2015 to 2019. In the House, she was the Deputy Chairman, Women in parliament.
Dr. Mercy Abu Bello is a Trainer at IHP Consulting Services, a well sought after Entrepreneurship, Leadership, Mind-reset Coach, and a Public Speaker. She is a graduate of English and Literary Studies from the Edo State University. She bagged MBA from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka and has been involved in Capacity Building, training, and Capacity Development for over 20 years.
Dr. (Mrs) Vivian Obiageli Egwuatu Nsirim is the Founder and CEO Young Moms Support Initiative. A voted Christian, Humanitarian Agent and Philanthropist, which led her in founding Young Moms Support Initiative (YMSI) – a non-governmental organization (NGO) seeking to support and empower women and children for a better society. YMSI birthed one of the largest online global community of young women called *YOUNG MOMS FORUM* with over 2 million women mostly, mothers and expectant mothers in Nigeria, and diaspora.
Funmi Bello is the owner of the popular The Lady Clothier For Men – an Exquisite Fashion Brand established in Abuja in 2017. She is a graduate of Physics from the prestigious University of Abuja. Funmi is well known for her uncanny attention to details, her expert handling of diverse range of fabrics as well as her examplary grasp of a wide range of male body types. Her innovative and ingenuity combined with strong business acumen and vision has seen her win various accolades and streams of recommendations from wide range of fashion entity within and outside the shores of Nigeria.
Comrade (Dr.) Juliana Bitrus is the Chairperson National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives (NANNM) Borno state Chapter. She hails from Askira/Uba , Lassa District of Borno and served as a former Commissioner for Health and Human Services in Borno state. Juliana is a Community Developer and social worker. She is also a former commissioner for Animal Resources and Fisheries Development.
