Customs Generates N128.4bn In May At Tincan Island Port

The Tincan Island Port Command of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has revealed its revenue collection figures for May 2025 with amounted to N128.4billion.

The development is attributed to the dedicated leadership of Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka who has continued to inspire the Command’s officials towards record breaking performances in all areas of their responsibilities.

According to a press statement disseminated by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Oscar Ivara, in the month of May, N128,446,323,224.79k was generated.

“This figure is far above the N92, 671,603,418.04k generated in the corresponding month of May, 2024. The Command has persistently churned out record revenues since the turn of the year, its stakeholders engagement has also been commended to be top notch going by many indications.

“Meanwhile, the revenue figure for April 2025 was N145,000,000,000.00 and it was also a significant increase over the N95,500,000,000.00 for the corresponding period of April for 2024,” the statement read.

Comptroller Frank Onyeka, the TCIP Area Controller, however, maintained that his aim is to generate revenue seamlessly, adding that he encourages trade facilitation, but such trade has to be legitimate and not harmful to the economy.

Onyeka has since the resumption of duty at the Command keyed into the policies of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi and his records of performance at the Command so far has revealed a general increase in month on month performance in the area of revenue generation.
