The Chairman, Tin Can Island Port Chapter of the Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), Prince Olawale Cole, has congratulated the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Dr. Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a reform-driven leader whose tenure has strengthened trade facilitation and border security in Nigeria.
In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of members of the ANLCA Tin Can Chapter, Prince Cole commended the Customs boss for the far-reaching institutional reforms recorded under his leadership, noting that the Nigeria Customs Service has witnessed remarkable progress in automation, digitisation, transparency and stakeholder engagement.
Prince Cole observed that the reforms championed by the Customs boss, Adeniyi, have translated into improved operational efficiency at the ports, enhanced ease of doing business, sustained growth in revenue generation and a more collaborative relationship between Customs and licensed agents.
The ANLCA Tincan Chairman also applauded Dr. Adeniyi’s global recognition, particularly his election as Chairman of the World Customs Organization (WCO) Council, describing it as a proud moment for Nigeria and the African Customs community.
“Dr. Adeniyi’s leadership has repositioned the Nigeria Customs Service as a modern, professional and globally respected institution. His reform-oriented approach has positively impacted port operations and strengthened confidence among stakeholders,” the ANLCA chairman stated.
He encouraged the Customs Comptroller-General not to relent in his commitment to trade facilitation, border security and the successful implementation of continental trade initiatives such as the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) to expand the opportunities for legitimate trade and economic growth.
On behalf of ANLCA Tin Can Island Port Chapter, Prince Cole wished Dr. Adeniyi a fulfilling birthday, praying for good health, wisdom and continued strength to sustain the ongoing transformation of the Nigeria Customs Service in the interest of national development.
