The Tin Can Island Port Command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has recorded yet another major revenue stride, generating N154.3 billion in October 2025 – the second-highest monthly collection in the Command’s history.

The latest figure, confirmed in a statement by the Public Relations Officer, Chief Superintendent of Customs Oscar Ivara, underscores the Command’s sustained upward trajectory under the leadership of its Customs Area Controller (CAC), Comptroller Frank Okechukwu Onyeka.

According to the PRO, the Command’s impressive performance reflects the impact of renewed operational discipline, strategic reforms, and the continuous optimisation of the Unified Customs Management System, popularly known as the B’Odogwu platform. The indigenous digital trade solution has been widely credited with tightening revenue leakages, speeding up cargo processes and boosting overall efficiency.

October’s revenue haul follows the Command’s historic all-time high of N159 billion generated in August 2025. At the time, Comptroller Onyeka attributed the breakthrough to the seamless deployment of the B’Odogwu system, noting that the platform “significantly improved trade facilitation and enhanced revenue performance.”

The CAC had also praised the dedication of officers and the cooperation of port stakeholders, emphasising that the results were a product of collective commitment.

He further acknowledged the support of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, MFR, whose policy direction — centred on collaboration, consolidation and innovation – has guided the Command’s operational culture throughout the year.

With back-to-back strong revenue outings, the Tin Can Island Port Command continues to position itself as one of the Service’s top-performing formations, demonstrating the effectiveness of technology-driven customs administration and sustained stakeholder synergy.

The Command says it remains committed to surpassing its revenue obligations while strengthening trade facilitation and compliance at one of Nigeria’s busiest seaports.
