Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun West Senatorial District have officially endorsed Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO) as their preferred candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.
The endorsement took place on Wednesday at a well-attended gathering in Osun State ahead of the APC governorship primary scheduled for December 13, 2025.
Speaking at the event, the sponsor and APC chieftain from Ede North, Hon. Gafar Ajani, said the decision followed extensive consultations with youth and party leaders across the senatorial district. According to him, the endorsement reflects the confidence of young party members in Oyebamiji’s leadership qualities, proven competence, and economic vision for Osun State.
“This is not a mere declaration. AMBO enjoys overwhelming support across the Osun APC structure—from the grassroots to our party chieftains and women leaders in Osun West,” Ajani said. “He has an outstanding record in the banking sector and possesses the experience and knowledge needed to transform Osun’s economy.”
Ajani added that the event underscored the unity and determination of APC members in Osun West to stand behind Oyebamiji’s ambition. “We are ready to project and promote his candidacy any day, any time,” he affirmed.
Also speaking, the APC Youth Leader for Osun West Senatorial District, Hon. Imran Adekunle Osama, revealed that youth leaders from all ten local governments in the district had unanimously agreed to support Oyebamiji.
“We have all agreed to throw our full support behind Asiwaju AMBO because we strongly believe his candidacy will give APC a landslide victory. All ward and unit youth leaders of our great party are here today to endorse the best man for the job,” Osama declared.
The endorsement motion was moved by Mr. Saheed Wasiu from Isale Oba Ward 3 and seconded by Mrs. Folashade Adeoye from Ede North Local Government, drawing cheers from the crowd.
Among dignitaries at the event were Hon. Gafar Akintayo Amere, former member of the House of Representatives; Dr. Raheem Amidu Tadese of the National Population Commission; and Isamotu Ali Dodo, Osun West Senatorial Coordinator of the AMBO Movement. Others included Mrs. Olajile Funmilayo, Osun West Women Leader; Hon. Adirulaihi Abefe; Hon. Debo Akanni; and several APC youth and ward leaders.
The endorsement is seen as a major boost for Oyebamiji’s governorship bid as he consolidates support ahead of the party’s primaries.
