The Women’s International Shipping and Trading Association (WISTA) Nigeria has congratulated Ms. Iroghama Ogbeifun, Chief Executive Officer of Starzs Investments Company Limited, on her recent appointment as a Board Member of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
WISTA, in a press statement signed by its President – Dr. Odunayo Ani, described the prestigious national appointment as a resounding recognition of Ms. Ogbeifun’s exceptional leadership, steadfast dedication, and invaluable contributions to the maritime industry.
As a prominent and active member of WISTA Nigeria, Ms. Ogbeifun has consistently demonstrated her commitment to the growth and development of the sector—serving as a panelist at key industry events, sharing her knowledge and experience, and providing consistent support to the association both financially and otherwise.
“We are immensely proud of Ms. Ogbeifun’s achievements and her unwavering support of WISTA Nigeria over the years,” Dr. Ani said.
The WISTA President added that Iroghama’s appointment to the NIMASA Board is not only a personal milestone, but a powerful representation of the impact of female leadership in the maritime and shipping sectors.
WISTA Nigeria views this appointment as a significant step forward for gender representation and inclusive leadership within the Nigerian maritime space.

In another development, WISTA Nigeria also congratulated Madam Jemilat Mahamah on her appointment as Chairman of the Ghana Maritime Authority.
“This historic and well-deserved appointment stands as a testament to Madam Mahamah’s unwavering dedication, visionary leadership, and exemplary service to the maritime industry. Her elevation to this prestigious role is a proud moment not only for WISTA Ghana but for the entire WISTA network across Africa and globally.
“We are immensely proud of Madam Mahamah’s achievement,” said Dr. Odunayo Ani, President of WISTA Nigeria. “Her appointment is a shining example of the strides women continue to make in maritime leadership, and we are confident that her tenure will bring about innovative reforms and meaningful progress in the Ghanaian maritime sector.”
