In a heartfelt condolence message addressed to veteran journalist and elder statesman, Elder Asu Beks, Igali said PANDEF received the news “with total shock and grief,” but noted that the Forum remains comforted by the belief that “the Almighty God knows best.”

He emphasized that her influence was felt wherever she went, leaving a legacy of quiet impact and admirable strength.

“Though words are a poor comfort at a time like this. I cannot but use these very words to express my grief and sorrow at the death of your wife whom you loved and cared for so dearly.”

The PANDEF Chairman encouraged the bereaved family to draw strength from the meaningful life she lived, noting that true fulfillment is measured not by longevity but by the footprints one leaves behind.

Quoting Scripture, he added: “To be absent from the body is to be with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Igali prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and assured the Asu Beks family of PANDEF’s solidarity during their period of mourning.
