Kingsley Igwe Emerges Substantive Registrar Of CRFFN

Registrar, Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN), Mr. Kingsley Igwe

As part of efforts to reposition the Council for the Regulation of Freight Forwarding in Nigeria (CRFFN) for better efficiency and management, the Minister of Marine & Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON, has approved the appointment of Mr. Kingsley Igwe as substantive Registrar/CEO for the Council.

Kingsley Igwe, who is also the National Secretary, National Association Government Approved Freight Forwarders (NAGAFF), takes over from the acting Registrar/CEO, Mrs. Chinyere Uromta.

The appointment was announced in a letter, signed on behalf of the Honourable Minister by the Director, Maritime Services, Mr. Babatunde J. Sule.

His appointment is in accordance with the relevant provisions of the CRFFN Act 2007 and it is for a duration of four(4) years in the first instance.

Igwe, 44, who holds a Master’s degree in Transportation and Logistics, hails from Imo State, South – East Nigeria. He is an active registered member of the CRFFN.

The Ministry stated that the appointment is with immediate effect, even as News Diet recalls that in August 2024 Igwe was the best performing participant at a CRFFN training supervised by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, in Lagos.

It would be recalled that the Council has been enmeshed in crisis of confidence and insolvency, leading to its inability to pay salaries since January this year, until the Honourable Minister stepped in to arrange a bailout loan for the payment of salaries.
