Olumekun Olubunmi, has congratulated Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his well-deserved victory in the just-concluded Ondo State gubernatorial election.
While commending Governor Aiyedatiwa on the victory, Olumekun expressed delight at the newly elected governor’s commitment to public service and urged him to deliver impactful leadership that surpasses the achievements of his predecessors.
“Your Excellency, the people of Ondo State have placed their trust in you to lead them toward prosperity. I urge you to set a new standard of governance by implementing policies that prioritize the well-being of the people and the sustainable development of the state,” Olumekun stated.
The BOAN President, who is a firm advocate for the growth of Nigeria’s blue economy, asserted that optimization of Nigerian inland waterways would unearth the transformative potential of the sectors in driving economic growth and creating sustainable livelihoods.
He urged Governor Aiyedatiwa to explore the vast opportunities within the Blue Economy to further strengthen Ondo State’s economy and position it as a hub for maritime activities.
The maritime operator noted that his famous words: “Ọba Ọmí ju Ọba Òkè,” translates to: ” the potentials in the water are greater than those on the land.”
Hon. Olumekun maintained that the untapped opportunities in maritime trade, transportation, tourism, and fisheries, could significantly boost Ondo State’s revenue and create jobs for its people.
As a leader deeply invested in the progress of Nigeria’s maritime and export sectors, Olumekun expressed his readiness to collaborate with the Ondo State Government in initiatives aimed at harnessing the Blue Economy for the benefit of the people.
