Blue Economy Minister ‘Oyetola’ Banners Emerge For Osun Governorship Elections

Osun APC denies Oyetola’s 2026 gubernatorial ambition

Campaign posters of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, vying for Osun State gubernatorial elections have emerged in the state’s capital, Oshogbo, suggesting that he is interested in contesting the 2026 governorship election.

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), however, has urged the public to disregard the posters, dismissing the speculation that the maiden Minister of Marine and Blue Economy eyes election into Osun State Government House.

Reacting to the development, the APC, in a statement signed by its Director of Media and Information, Mr. Kola Olabisi, dismissed the posters as the handiwork of disgruntled individuals aiming to destabilize the party.

“We know the source of these fake posters and the mission behind them-to unsettle the party and create chaos that neither sits nor stands. Our disappointment as the leading opposition party in Osun State today is that the faceless promoters of this obnoxious act lack tact and subtlety, much like the proverbial witch that cries at night and a child dies in the morning. Who does not see the connection?” the statement read.

The party made it clear that Oyetola had neither printed nor authorized the distribution of any campaign materials.

“The state leader of our party and immediate past governor of Osun did not print any poster for any political ambition, let alone paste them. The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy did not instruct anyone to print or distribute posters on his behalf for any political, social, or economic purpose.

“The printing and pasting of these posters is a mere propaganda stunt orchestrated by political detractors to tarnish Oyetola’s reputation among APC members and supporters across Osun State.”

The statement further asserted that the party remains undeterred by the distractions, emphasizing its commitment to the rule of law, fairness, and justice.

“Our satisfaction comes from knowing that the metaphorical arrow fired by these agents of discord has missed its target. More fabricated stories can be expected from failed politicians still reeling from their expulsion from the progressive party.”
